F\u00fcr die Abschlussarbeit seines Masterstudiums in D\u00fcsseldorf (Politische Kommunikation) forschte er zu der Wirkung von Fotografie. Er studierte anschlie\u00dfend Fotojournalismus an der Hochschule Hannover. F\u00fcr seine Fotoreportagen wurde er unter anderem mit dem Preis \u201eUNICEF Foto des Jahres 2014\u201c ausgezeichnet, war 2013 als CNN Journalist of the Year und sowohl 2014 als auch 2016 f\u00fcr den Medienpreis der Kindernothilfe nominiert. 2010 gr\u00fcndete er die Agentur f\u00fcr Hochzeitsfotografie \u201eHochzeit im Blick\u201c. Seit 2016 hat er einen Lehrauftrag am Institute of Design in D\u00fcsseldorf. Er wird von der Agentur laif vertreten und lebt und arbeitet in Hannover und Willich.
