Als hauptberuflicher freischaffender Fotograf und K\u00fcnstler ist er von den K\u00fcsten Massachusetts&#8217; bis in die Landschaften Utahs gereist. Die st\u00e4ndige Bewegung n\u00e4hrt seine Leidenschaft f\u00fcr das Unterwegssein, wo das Aufwachen an einem neuen Ort jeden Tag eine frische Leinwand bietet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AVs \u00c4sthetik ist von den Farbpaletten impressionistischer Maler:innen gepr\u00e4gt, was zu Arbeiten f\u00fchrt, die dokumentarisch und zugleich zutiefst pers\u00f6nlich wirken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eEines der Markenzeichen der Arbeiten, die ich aufbaue, sind Farbe und Textur. Sie sind eine Mischung aus film- und malereiinspiriert&#8221;, erkl\u00e4rt AV. \u201eIch betrachte alles gleichwertig. Alles ist wertvoll genug, um fotografiert zu werden.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AV musste seine stilistische Farbgestaltung in ein Filmrezept \u00fcbersetzen, das direkt aus der Kamera kommt. Schon bevor dieses Projekt begann, hatte AV die Filmsimulation in seine digitale Dunkelkammer integriert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eIch nutze NOSTALGIC Neg. auch viel als Basis f\u00fcr die Bearbeitung von RAW-Fotos&#8221;, sagt er. \u201eIch liebe die warme Wiedergabe und mag die Farben.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AV entschied sich, mit einer Wei\u00dfabgleich-Verschiebung noch mehr W\u00e4rme hinzuzuf\u00fcgen. Er wollte die raue, greifbare Natur seiner Reisemotive bewahren: die Textur von Bergk\u00e4mmen in der W\u00fcste und die groben Vertiefungen st\u00e4dtischen Mauerwerks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eIch wollte dem Filmrezept etwas Textur geben, weil digitale Bilder manchmal zu steril wirken k\u00f6nnen&#8221;, merkt AV an. Dagegen setzte er einen digitalen K\u00f6rnungseffekt ein, um ihm einen Hauch Charakter zu verleihen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eMich interessiert in letzter Zeit das Raue&#8221;, sagt er und verweist auf eine Abkehr von seiner fr\u00fcheren Vorliebe f\u00fcr weichere Looks. \u201eWenn du in die W\u00fcste hinausgehst, hat alles au\u00dfer dem Himmel so viel Textur. Ich wollte sichergehen, dass dieses Filmrezept genau das betont.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mehr Sch\u00e4rfe und Klarheit trieben AVs Look weiter voran, aber nicht so sehr, dass die Bilder an Vielseitigkeit verloren. In einem \u00fcberf\u00fcllten Feld von Kreativen sieht er diese Einstellungen in der Kamera als Weg, sich abzuheben. Er merkt allerdings an, dass die wahre Kunst in der Harmonie zwischen Einstellung und Szene liegt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eDie Abstimmung des Filmrezepts auf das Motiv ist meiner Meinung nach viel wichtiger als nur ein \u00fcbergreifender, festgelegter Look&#8221;, erkl\u00e4rt AV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mit der <strong>FUJIFILM X-Serie<\/strong> kann er diese Abstimmung in Echtzeit durch den Sucher sehen. Diese unmittelbare R\u00fcckmeldung ver\u00e4ndert seinen Entscheidungsprozess vor Ort grundlegend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eDie Filmsimulation in der Kamera beeinflusst, wie du komponierst und welche Entscheidungen du beim Fotografieren triffst&#8221;, sagt er. Der Umstieg vom Sicherheitsnetz der RAW-Dateien hin zum vorrangigen Ziel, JPEGs direkt aus der Kamera zu liefern, war eine neue Erfahrung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eBei diesem Projekt habe ich mich nat\u00fcrlich selbst herausgefordert, um sicherzugehen, dass alles wirklich direkt aus der Kamera kam&#8221;, sagt AV. \u201eIch habe nicht einmal eines der fertigen Bilder beschnitten.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das erzwang ein langsameres, bewussteres Tempo. Er machte mehrere Versionen ein und derselben Szene, um sicherzustellen, dass Belichtung und Komposition perfekt waren, bevor er weiterzog. \u201eEs hat an jedem Ort etwas mehr Zeit gekostet, ein Foto zu bekommen, aber es hat sich gelohnt.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr AV war das Projekt eine \u00dcbung in Bewusstheit. Indem er die Grenzen des Direkt-aus-der-Kamera-Workflows und die besondere Wissenschaft hinter den Filmsimulationen annahm, hat er einen Look geschaffen, bei dem es ebenso sehr um die Reise wie um das fertige Bild geht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er ermutigt andere Kreative, eigene Einstellungen auszuprobieren, um denselben Funken Inspiration zu finden.
