By applying filters in digital photography, Film Simulations continue this practice to control the look of the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Because it has the weakest effect of all the contrast-enhancing filters, photographers used yellow filters widely during the film era. Not only do they darken skies, they also absorb green, which has a shorter wavelength, boosting contrast in situations where colors are similar \u2013 flowers in a field of green, for example.
