There’s a significant difference between ultra wide-angle optics and their more restrained counterparts – and understanding this distinction can help you choose the right tool for your work.
Lenses with full-frame equivalent focal lengths of around 12-24mm are considered ultra wide-angle. These are specialist optics capable of delivering dramatic perspectives.
