His work extends into film, advertising, street photography, performance and fine art, and is largely influenced by the city that he grew up in \u2013 beautiful, colourful and multi-layered Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>Appolis\u2019s photographic journey began in 2009 on the streets of Bangkok while on holiday with his family. Mesmerized by the textures and shadows of the city, he felt compelled to capture its juxtaposition and from here discovered his eye for composition.<\/p>\n<p>After a long career in financial services, he decided to quit the corporate world and follow what was clearly his passion. The journey has been a colourful one, filled with adventures from Tanzania to Japan, and of course in his homeland South Africa.
