To Be Yourself
Wild horses living freely on the Kruzi plateau of Mount Cincar in Bosnia and Herzegovina are descendants of once-domestic horses and today number around 800 individuals. Their freedom reflects what I search for within myself. At times, it feels as though I photograph them in order to find myself. Their strength is not defined by their wildness, but by their presence. Each moment with them reminds me that freedom is not a place, but a state of mind. They are only their own — and I am learning to become the same.
