Even when I was studying interior design I was already fascinated by the creative opportunities that could be opened up through space, design and lighting techniques. Whereas photography had until then been something I did only for personal enjoyment, this passion increasingly came to the fore in the professional sphere too: initially I did a lot of product and action-style photography relating to yachts and deluxe motor boats until I also became aware of the potential of wedding photography with its once-in-a-lifetime moments as a source of positive neurotransmitters. As my life is centred around my home on the Tegernsee I also have the opportunity of doing photography in the hotels sector and the field of architecture, or putting together company profiles where documentary-style photographic features are one of my particular specialisms.

A cliché perhaps, but true nonetheless: photography is my job, my passion and my means of expression.

Initially I was just looking for an additional camera for my own needs ‒ my equipment weighed 35 kg and was simply too cumbersome ‒ but without having to compromise on quality. So I ended up using Fujifilm and the X-T1, partly because I really like analogue photography and it brings back memories of the 35mm and medium format cameras that I used to own. Now I not only have much greater flexibility in how I organise my work, I actually also benefit from having fewer back problems and I don’t get held up as much at customs. What’s more, its compact, inconspicuous design and quiet shutter action lets me get up even closer to my subjects.

Fujifilm‘s lens and bodies are excellent tools for me, and totally dependable. In addition to its outstanding 23mm camera, Fujifilm‘s 16er f1.4 is a dream come true for me: a weather-proof camera with a fast lens which produces images of superb quality.
