FUJIFILM Corporation announces the global launch of the “FUJIFILM X-E5” (X-E5). The X-E5 will be the latest model in the X Series, offering outstanding image quality, compact and lightweight body.

The X-E5 is a lightweight and compact mirrorless digital camera, weighing approximately 445g*1, equipped with the back-illuminated 40.2 megapixel “X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR”*2 sensor and the “X-Processor 5” high-speed image processing engine. This makes it an effortless,” daily carry” that remains adaptable to the most challenging scenarios.

By combining sharp, flat edges with carefully curved surfaces, the top-plate delivers a smooth metallic texture and a high sense of rigidity, offering a premium feel when holding the camera. Combined with a body style that allows you to operate the dials and the lever with one hand, you can immerse yourself in image making with the camera to your eye.

The X-E5 retains the classic style of the X series while embodying an innovative design that pursues elegance. It is equipped with features and operability that inspire the joy of photography. Catering to a wide range of users, from photography enthusiasts to those using a digital camera for the first time, this camera offers the delight of owning a sophisticated tool and the excitement of immersing oneself in the world of photography.

FUJIFILM Corporation announces the launch of the “FUJINON Lens XF23mmF2.8 R WR” (XF23mmF2.8 R WR) as part of the “XF Lens” lineup for the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras, which are renowned for their compact and lightweight design and outstanding image quality delivered with Fujifilm’s proprietary color reproduction technology.

MAGNUM Presents “A World in Color” Developed in collaboration with Fujifilm and MPP

16.04.2025
Supported by Fujifilm and MPP, Magnum Photos embarks on “A world in Color”, a historic project to digitize the agency’s Paris color library archive, which has remained dormant for decades.
IAN BERRY / Magnum Photos

In January 2025, Magnum Photos began the monumental project of digitizing the color library archive, both as a step to preserve Magnum’s legacy for future generations and to unearth the unseen color images that have been hidden away for decades. With the support of long-term partners Fujifilm and the Médiathèque du Patrimoine et de la photographie (MPP), the Magnum Archive and Production teams revisit the full archive and digitize each sheet of color slides, totaling approximately 650,000 color slides dating from the 1950s to the early 2000s, ensuring that they are preserved correctly for future generations. For the digitization process, the FUJIFILM GFX100 II medium-format digital camera is used. Flagship model featuring the newly-developed high-speed 102MP sensor and the latest image processing engine. Delivering highest burst-shooting, AF, video performance and stabilization in the history of GFX Series.

A World in Color marks a new chapter for the long-term collaboration between Magnum and Fujifilm, offering the photographic community a rare glimpse into the unseen images of Magnum’s color archive, as well as a newly commissioned, exclusive series by Magnum photographers for each country, made in response to the archive, and shot using the Fujifilm GFX camera. Finally, in order to respond to and complement this selection of archives with a contemporary vision, leading Magnum Photographers will be commissioned to take exclusive new series of photos using Fujifilm GFX cameras.

To highlight this major project, a series of exhibitions and talks will take place in six European countries throughout the year with Fujifilm’s traveling FUJIKINA global events, starting in Prague in March. Each exhibition, unique to that country, will feature unseen images from the same geography, tracing its history and culture during the 20th century, alongside the new series made in response to the archive. The Magnum photographer commissioned for each country will be present throughout the weekend, and will give a talk around their practice
