Entering the Flow of the World
My approach to photography is a gradual immersion into the environment.
Shooting, for me, doesn’t just mean observing, it means feeling: understanding the space, listening to its sounds, sensing its rhythm. It’s a process of presence, of attention to the small things that often go unnoticed in the rush of everyday life. Each photograph is born from the desire to express what I perceive within. Images can capture the form of the world, but not always its soul—the spark that ignites vision and turns it into emotion.
Thanks to the dedicated Film Simulation Dial on the FUJIFILM X-E5, I can instantly translate what everyday reality makes me feel into my photographs, in a spontaneous and intuitive way. The camera allows me to save up to three customized combinations, my FS RECIPEs, built from Fujifilm’s Film Simulations and my own fine-tuned image settings. With a simple turn of the dial, I can switch between them seamlessly.
It’s a simplicity that frees the creative process: less time at the computer, more time behind the camera.
Three Recipes, Three Ways of Perceiving the World
This project was born from the desire to explore, through three FS Recipes, three emotional states that different atmospheres can evoke facets of how I perceive the world.
FS RECIPE: Aurea

Aurea was created to celebrate the warmth of sunlight, often the true protagonist in my photography. I chose NOSTALGIC Neg. as my base Film Simulation for its rich shadows and beautifully warm tones, then refined color temperature and saturation to give the image more depth. Aurea is the light that enlivens the everyday, the warmth that transforms familiar places.
It’s ideal for both urban scenes and portraits, thanks to the simulation’s excellent rendering of skin tones and golden light.

FS RECIPE: Eternal

Eternal emerged from a search for greater color depth and variety. Here, I started from the slightly cooler, more desaturated tones of CLASSIC CHROME. Through careful white-balance adjustments, I aimed for pastel hues that express a softer, dreamlike atmosphere where every color finds its space. Eternal represents time stretching out, the calm of a summer afternoon, the idea that every emotion can be suspended and become memory. It’s probably the most versatile of the three, performing beautifully in both urban and natural settings.

FS RECIPE: Crepuscolo

The third FS RECIPE, Crepuscolo, was born from the need to create an aesthetic that contrasts the previous two, more introspective, with enveloping tones. It suggests an inner dialogue, a moment of reflection. Once again, I started from NOSTALGIC Neg., but this time with a cooler white balance shifted toward the blues, to evoke a more cinematic, meditative atmosphere.
It’s designed for those moments when the light fades and everything slows down, inviting you to look inward.

A Journey Through Places and States of Mind
The project moves between nature and urban space, from Modena to Lake Como, a journey that alternates city life and natural contemplation. Each place becomes a landscape to internalize, and each Recipe a way to interpret the emotions that flow through it: the movement of the city, the stillness of the lake, the reflection of the mountains. With its compact size and responsiveness, the FUJIFILM X-E5 becomes a natural extension of the gaze. Yet it’s through its color rendering that the camera truly reveals its character: balanced, deep, and authentic tones capable of conveying the sensations of the moment with remarkable naturalness and harmony. Guided by this unique color sensitivity, the Film Simulations and FS RECIPEs have made my creative process both simpler and more conscious.
Now, an image is no longer just something I capture. It’s something I experience and translate in the very moment of shooting, with the freedom to refine it later, if needed, directly in-camera.
The Art of Slowing Down

In a world that never stops moving, photography reminds me that every instant contains art, emotion, and meaning. With the customizable FS RECIPEs, Fujifilm renews this invitation: to live photography with spontaneity, to listen to sensations, to express oneself through color and light. Every photo, every project, is a way to reconnect with the present. An invitation to slow down, to look more closely, to understand what is truly worth seeing and to find beauty in simplicity.
