Please read this update after refreshing this page.
- In case of Windows (Internet Explorer / FireFox / Google Chrome), hold down the “Control” key and “F5” key.
- In case of Mac (Safari / Google Chrome), hold down the “Command” key and “R” key.
- In case of Mac (FireFox), hold down the “Command”, “Shift” and “R” keys at same time.
The firmware upgrade is not required if its version is latest.
- Refer to “2) Firmware version checking procedure” in the “Detail of firmware update steps” below to check the firmware version.
Please use your camera and lens with the latest version of firmware.
- If you don’t use them with the latest version, you may not enjoy their full performance. Check the latest firmware version from the link below.
Firmware update via the smartphone or a tablet.
- The firmware of a camera paired with a smartphone can be updated via the smartphone and a tablet.
The method of firmware update via a smartphone
Settings you have changed can be saved by FUJIFILM X Acquire and so on.
- We would recommend you save the settings if you have changed them from default ones. For detail, visit the FAQ website.
Detail of the firmware update
The firmware update Ver.1.30 from Ver.1.20 incorporates the following issues:
< Important notice after firmware update >
* After the firmware update, you cannot connect the camera to the iOS version of FUJIFILM Camera Remote. Be sure to upgrade your smartphone or tablet to iOS13 or later and use FUJIFILM XApp instead of Camera Remote.
* After the firmware update, you cannot use the FUJIFILM Camera Remote (Android version) to connect with the camera through Bluetooth: Ver.4.1 and earlier. To pair via Bluetooth, smartphone/tablet must be Bluetooth Ver. 4.2 and latter.

The wireless communication security is enhanced while camera is connecting with a smartphone application or external device wirelessly.
After updating the firmware, security will be enhanced, so the connection procedure with the smartphone application will be changed, or the “WIRELESS COMMUNICATION” setting menu on the camera will be deleted (see section, <Changes after firmware update> below for details).
< Changes after firmware update >
1) The procedure for pairing the camera with a smartphone is changed.
2) “WIRELESS COMMUNICATION” option in the “SHOOTING SETTING”, “MOVIE SETTING”, and “PLAY BACK MENU” are removed.
3) “WIRELESS COMMUNICATION” option is removed from the functions assigned by the following operation flow in the “Setup Menu”.
・Operation flow: “BUTTON/DIAL SETTING” ➔ “FUNCTION (Fn) SETTING”
4) “WIRELESS COMMUNICATION” option is removed from the functions assigned by the following operation flow in the “Setup Menu”.
・Operation flow: “BUTTON/DIAL SETTING” ➔ “POWER ZOOM LENS FUNCTION (Fn) SETTING”
5) “WIRELESS COMMUNICATION” option is removed from the “Fn1 BUTTON SETTING” menu in the “BUTTON/DIAL SETTING” of the “Setup Menu”.
6) “instax PRINTER CONNECTION SETTING” menu is removed from the “NETWORK/USB SETTING” of the “Setup Menu”.
7) “instax PRINTER PRINT” option is removed from the “PLAY BACK MENU”.< Precautions After Firmware Update >
1) Network security level is improved by updating to the latest versions for both the smartphone applications (FUJIFILM XApp / FUJIFILM Camera Remote) and connected cameras, since the latest versions change the network setting menus and connecting procedures to enhance the wireless communication security.Be aware that the security level remains unchanged in the following case.
* In case that the camera’s firmware is the current version, and the smartphone application (FUJIFILM XApp / FUJIFILM Camera Remote) is the latest version.2) After updating the camera firmware, if the smartphone application (FUJIFILM XApp / FUJIFILM Camera Remote) is not updated to the latest version, you cannot connect to the camera. Be sure to upgrade your smartphone application software to the latest version.
3) After updating the firmware, you will no longer be able to print images taken with a digital camera directly from the instax™ SHARE SP-1/2/3. When printing images using instax™ SHARE SP-1/2/3, please use the smartphone application
(FUJIFLM XApp or FUJIFILM Camera Remote) to import images and print from the dedicated instax™ printer application.

Exposure tracking during aperture movement gets smoothed when used with the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II.
The above exposure tracking function is enabled under the following setting conditions.[Setting conditions]・StillMovie mode ➔ Movie・Shooting Mode ➔ Manual (M) Mode・ISO ➔ Fixed Sensitivity -
The “LINEAR” setting in “Focus ring operation” menu can now be set by the focus ring rotating angle.
The above function is enabled when used with the following applicable lenses.[Applicable lenses]・XF/XC series Prime lenses and zoom lensesNote:Interchangeable lenses with distance indicators (XF14mmF2.8 R, XF23mmF1.4 R and XF16mmF1.4 R WR) are not applicable. -
A firmware bug is fixed that the image display becomes abnormal in rare cases for the images processed by RAW development from the RAW files shot with the following bracketing function.

The firmware update Ver.1.12 from Ver.1.10/Ver.1.11 incorporates the following issues:

A firmware bug is fixed that the camera does not turn on even if the power lever is on when a specific SD memory card is inserted.

A firmware bug is fixed that the “WRITE ERROR” occurs in rare cases after shooting when using specific SD memory cards.

Other minor bugs are also fixed.
The firmware update Ver.1.10 from Ver.1.02 incorporates the following issue:

The AF algorithm has been partially revised to improve focusing accuracy and subject tracking performance.
The firmware update Ver.1.02 from Ver.1.01 incorporates the following issues:

The firmware bug is fixed that the error message, “THIS FIRMWARE IS NOT FOR THIS MODEL TURN OFF THE CAMERA” is displayed on the LCD during the firmware update from Ver.1.00 to Ver.1.01 for specific serial numbers and the firmware update cannot be performed.
Note-1: Refer to the “Notice and apology to FUJIFILM X-T50 users” for the details.
Note-2: Although there are no differences of features and performance of the camera itself between Ver.1.01 and Ver.1.02, all X-T50 users can update this firmware (ver.1.02) even who had already completed the update to Ver.1.01.
The firmware update Ver.1.01 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues:

When the shutter button is half-pressed at the same time as the “AF ILLUMINATOR” light metering operation, the camera freezes in rare cases.

The camera freezes in rare cases while recording movie with an external monitor connected under the following conditions.

A minor bug.
Firmware Update Steps
- Check the firmware version.
- Prepare a formatted memory card.
- Download the firmware and copy it to the card.
- Put the memory card with the firmware in the camera and update it.
Precaution
If firmware updating fails, the camera may no longer operate correctly in some cases. Carefully read the notes provided here*Always use the fully-charged battery when updating the firmware as a basic manner. Never turn the camera off or attempt to use any of the camera controls while the firmware is being overwritten.
- You can update the firmware from old version directly to the latest one.
- Firmware updating requires approximately 5 minutes.(maximum)
- Once the firmware has been updated, some data of the previous version cannot be restored.
- Please check here if you encounter any problems.

FIRMWARE is the upgraded version of software that FUJIFILM Corporation. (“FUJI”) already distributed to you included with FUJI’s product(s) (“ORIGINAL FIRMWARE”). All copyrights and other proprietary rights to FIRMWARE are retained by FUJI, and nothing contained herein shall be construed, expressly or implicitly, as transferring or granting to you any right, license, or title unless otherwise explicitly granted under this Agreement.
Article 2. NO Warranty
FUJI EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY FOR SOFTWARE. SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT, PATENT, TRADE SECRET, OR ANY OTHER PROPRIETARY RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY. You shall not, or shall not have any third party, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble FIRMWARE.
Caution
*Make sure there isn’t any file with the same name in the destination of the firmware to save. If there is a file with the same name, the browser may automatically alter the name of the firmware like the name and (1). A camera will not recognize the firmware correctly with an altered name like that.
