- In case of Windows (Internet Explorer / FireFox / Google Chrome), hold down the âControlâ key and âF5â key.
- In case of Mac (Safari / Google Chrome), hold down the âCommandâ key and âRâ key.
- In case of Mac (FireFox), hold down the âCommandâ, âShiftâ and âRâ keys at same time.
The firmware upgrade is not required if its version is latest.

Please use your camera and lens with the latest version of firmware.
- If you donât use them with the latest version, you may not enjoy their full performance. Check the latest firmware version from the link below.
Detail of the firmware update
The firmware update Ver.1.21 from Ver.1.20 incorporates the following issues:

The lens shutter movement count is reduced by modifying the open/close control of the lens shutter.
The lens shutter does not move at the following operations, so that lens shutter open/close movement count will be reduced.
ăťAt changing the mode/menu to âPlayback modeâ, to the âSetup menuâ or to âUSB modeâ
ăťAt connecting to application software, at switching the view angle in movie mode or at switching between still and movie modes -
A firmware bug is fixed that the settings will not be renewed in âCUSTOM SETTINGâ after camera is turned off and on when you save the following settings in âEDIT/SAVE CUSTOM SETTINGâ,

A firmware bug is fixed that the camera does not turn on even if the power lever is on when a specific SD memory card is inserted.

A firmware bug is fixed that the âWRITE ERRORâ occurs in rare cases after shooting when using specific SD memory cards.

The firmware update Ver.1.20 from Ver.1.11/Ver.1.12 incorporates the following issue:

The AF algorithm has been partially revised to improve focusing accuracy and subject tracking performance.
The firmware update Ver.1.11 from Ver.1.10 incorporates the following issues:

The camera focuses on different subject in the face frame even though AF is detecting the pupil.

When the shutter button is half-pressed at the same time as the âAF ILLUMINATORâ light metering operation, the camera freezes in rare cases.

The camera freezes in rare cases while recording movie with an external monitor connected under the following conditions.

Supports camera linkage enhanced in âFUJIFILM XAppâ Ver. 2.1.0 or later.
1)RAW image transfer to âFUJIFILM XAppâ is now supported.
2)Once FUJIFILM XApp connects to the camera, you can shoot and control the camera with smartphone even if the camera is turned off by âAUTO POWER OFFâ mode setting.
3)You can browse and transfer images to the camera with FUJIFILM XApp even while the camera is turned off.
Note:Be sure to update âFUJIFILM XAppâ to the latest version (Ver.2.1.0 or later) in order to use these new features above.

Fixed a problem in which AF focusing accuracy and distance display varied.

Wi-Fi connection performance is improved, so that the usability for the communication functions becomes more comfortable, such as Frame.io.

A firmware bug is fixed that the area settings in some regions are not automatically updated when connecting the camera to the âFUJIFILM XAppâ to synchronize time.

The firmware update Ver.1.01 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues:

A firmware bug is fixed that the camera does not connect with FUJIFULM XApp Ver.1.3.0 or below via WiFi connection.
Firmware Update Steps
- Check the firmware version.
- Prepare a formatted memory card.
- Download the firmware and copy it to the card.
- Put the memory card with the firmware in the camera and update it.
Precaution
If firmware updating fails, the camera may no longer operate correctly in some cases. Carefully read the notes provided here*Always use the fully-charged battery when updating the firmware as a basic manner. Never turn the camera off or attempt to use any of the camera controls while the firmware is being overwritten.
- You can update the firmware from old version directly to the latest one.
- Firmware updating requires approximately 5 minutes.(maximum)
- Once the firmware has been updated, some data of the previous version cannot be restored.

FIRMWARE is the upgraded version of software that FUJIFILM Corporation. (âFUJIâ) already distributed to you included with FUJIâs product(s) (âORIGINAL FIRMWAREâ). All copyrights and other proprietary rights to FIRMWARE are retained by FUJI, and nothing contained herein shall be construed, expressly or implicitly, as transferring or granting to you any right, license, or title unless otherwise explicitly granted under this Agreement.

FUJI EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY FOR SOFTWARE. SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED âAS ISâ WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT, PATENT, TRADE SECRET, OR ANY OTHER PROPRIETARY RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY. You shall not, or shall not have any third party, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble FIRMWARE.
Caution
*Make sure there isnât any file with the same name in the destination of the firmware to save. If there is a file with the same name, the browser may automatically alter the name of the firmware like the name and (1). A camera will not recognize the firmware correctly with an altered name like that.
